The Morning After: Faye's debut London show
The most recent, and certainly most pop orientated, signing to our very own Best Fit Recordings FAYE took to Hoxton Bar & Kitchen’s well trodden stage last night for her first ever London show. With her hand wrapped around the mic and a life times’ experience hidden behind her 24 year old eyes, Faye Hamlin has all the trademarks and moves of a bonafide pop star – not to mention she has the songs to back everything up.
With Johan Cederberg and Victor Holmberg, who “are also FAYE, because we do everything together” providing the night’s swelling 80s beats and 90s RnB flutters, Faye cuts a striking figure under the heavy house lights. Moving through a set of electronically orientated pop numbers like ‘Blonde’ and ‘Come To Me’ while taking things down a notch for new tracks like ‘Have You Ever Seen Me Down’ every move she makes belies her experience of being in the public eye from such a young age. And with such an amazing, powerhouse of a voice we have a feeling the public eye will be watching for a long time to come.
