Hoxton Square Bar and Grill has a habit of attracting the most exciting talent, and this week has been no exception. Having hosted Angel Haze, billed by many as the most exciting show in London, on Monday, last night saw their small back-room taken over by LULS, in support of the brilliant Theme Park.
Their short, but instantly eye (and ear) catching set was dominated by thrashing bass, powerful lung-busting vocals and an abundance of energy. The London-based three produce a sound beyond their numbers, whilst the strength of their song-writing forces its way through frenetic sounds, with the intricate harmony and crescendos of ‘Swing Low’ and ‘Young’ in particular.
I was told of LULS , “they make a good noise”, and I agree whole-heatedly – big, bold and brilliantly exciting.
