Honeyblood launch debut album with two London shows
Last night saw Honeyblood launch their self-titled debut album with not one, but two intimate shows in London.
The first was an in-store show at Rough Trade East, who had named their debut offering ‘Album of the Week’. The two girls from Glasgow blasted through a short set that included the songs “Killer Bangs” and new single “Super Rat”. Although short and sweet, it got the girls all warmed up for what was to come later.
Just a short walk down the road was the Old Blue Last, which played host to the second show of the evening. Intimate, exhilarating and incredibly sweaty, the pair played to a packed out crowd with an extended setlist. Highlights from the set included “Choker” and “(I’d Rather Be Anywhere) But Here”, a beautiful number that lead singer Stina declared was “about being in Glasgow.”
The set closed to a crowd that was left stargazed and calling out for more, with many hanging around afterwards to meet the band and buy a copy of the new album.
