The Itch present their debut single, "Ursula"
London duo The Itch have shared their debut single, "Ursula", ahead of their debut headline show at The Social, next week.
The track pays homage to cult author Ursula K. Le Guin, The Itch explore themes of suffering and fulfilment - central to Le Guin's 1974 novel The Dispossessed - and compare her struggle for utopia to the hopes and dreams of their own generation.
Speculation around who The Itch are has only been heightened by a rotating cast of performers from the London live circuit, with each show featuring a different line-up of musicians.
Steering the project are Georgia Hardy and Simon Tyrie. After meeting as teenagers at an open mic night, the two swapped music recommendations online, exposing each other to new genres and a collaborative relationship blossomed. They learnt to DJ and put on club nights in their home town before moving to London where they began writing, recording and producing music themselves in their makeshift home studio, leading them to develop a style that’s uniquely their own. Photos, artwork and videos thus far are also created by the two, expanding upon The Itch’s world.
Tickets for their headline show on 10 April are available now via DICE.
