
Taylor Swift, Harry Styles and BTS among top 10 best-selling albums of 2022 in the US
The best-selling albums of 2022 in the US have been revealed, featuring records by Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, BTS and more.
Luminate's Year-End US Music Report has arrived, and as well as revealing Bad Bunny's Un Verano Sin Ti as the top album of last year in the US (with 3.4 million total equivalent album units, Taylor Swift's Midnights was named the best-selling album of the year with over 1.8 million copies sold across all formats, and also placed second on the top albums of 2022 list with 3.294 million total equivalent album units.
Harry Styles' Harry's House album was the second best-selling album of 2022, having shifted 757,000 copies, followed by BTS' anthology album Proof (422,000 copies). Olivia Rodrigo's Sour and Beyoncé's Renaissance also featured in the top five.
Swift, Styles and Rodrigo also took the top three spots on the top-selling vinyl albums of 2022 in the US list, but the CD list was dominated by K-pop acts, with BTS, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, Stray Kids, TWICE, ENHYPEN and NCT 127 taking seven of the top 10 spots.
2022 also marked the second consecutive year in the US where vinyl album sales outsold CDs, and the 17th consecutive year where vinyl sales increased. In the UK, 2022 was the first time in 35 years where vinyl album sales outsold CDs.
