Tamino signs to Dead Oceans and shares "Raven" music video

As the latest signee to Dead Oceans, Tamino joins the likes of Mitski, Phoebe Bridgers, and more. The announcement comes alongside a new video for "Raven", directed by Thibaut Grevet and starring Vicky Krieps (Phantom Thread, Corsage, Bergman Island).

Discussing how the video came to be, Tamino says, “I called Thibaut Grevet a couple months ago with the question to make a video for ‘Raven’. I hadn’t really planned on making music videos for Every Dawn’s a Mountain, as I couldn’t really wrap my head around promoting this album in the typical way, for a number of reasons. I think I needed more distance from the songs to allow myself, or another creator to expand them into a visual world. On tour, I felt Raven becoming a crowd favorite, as well as one of mine. I gradually started to allow my mind to imagine a visual world for this song and thought it could be a beautiful last expression of the album, before closing this chapter."

“Thibaut proposed working with a striking, skilled actress and asked if anyone came to mind," he continues. "One of my all time favorite movies is Phantom Thread so it didn’t take long for Vicky Krieps to enter the picture. It was all wishful thinking of course, but I eventually gathered the courage to send her a message with the question, to which she so gracefully responded that she would love to do it but had a full schedule till early spring. We planned accordingly, and were finally able to shoot when the sun made its return.”
