Sylvan Esso share remix of “The District Sleeps Alone Tonight” by The Postal Service
The Postal Service have shared Sylvan Esso’s remix of their track, “The District Sleeps Alone Tonight.”
“The District Sleeps Alone Tonight” is taken from their 2003 album, Give Up. Of the remix, The Postal Service’s Jimmy Tamborello said: “I love Sylvan Esso and was excited to hear the song through their ears. It came out so good, big and tweaky and fun!"
“‘The District Sleeps Alone Tonight’ was a formative song for both of us,” Sylvan Esso said. “Nick remembers hearing the promo copy spooling out of his car speakers while he delivered pizza; Amelia remembers hearing it in the back of someone’s van during her freshman lunch hour. Both of us thought the song touched something new then — and to be asked to reinterpret it now is an honor.”
To celebrate two decades of Give Up and Transatlanticism, The Postal Service and Death Cab for Cutie have joined forces for an unprecedented 20th anniversary co-headline tour. The Postal Service and Death Cab for Cutie will headline All Points East in Victoria Park, closing out the festival on Sunday 25 August.
“The District Sleeps Alone Tonight” (Sylvan Esso remix) is out now. Tickets for their All Points East show are also on sale now via allpointseastfestival.com.
