Sylvan Esso reveal first single in three years, "WDID" and remove back catalogue from Spotify

Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn – AKA Sylvan Esso – have returned with their first new single in more than three years, as the first song of their own to be released on their own record label, Psychic Hotline.

Born from an intense period of creation and experimentation for band members Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn, "WDID" is an abrasive, all-caps confrontation against an all-consuming cascade of crises. Recorded at their own studio, Betty's, in Chapel Hill, NC, it features additional production from Jake Luppen (Hippo Campus, Samia), and arrives with a video by artists Aaron Anderson and Eric Timothy Carlson.

"As we prepare to release new music, we have to decide what we want to be a part of and what we don't. To that end, with Sylvan Esso being on our own label for the first time, we have decided to remove our music from Spotify. While no solution is perfect, we simply can't continue to put our life's work in a store that, in addition to all its other glaring flaws, directly funds war machines," Sylvan Esso say of their reason to remove their back catalogue from Spotify.

"WDID" is out now via Psychic Hotline.
