Watch rising Icelandic band Supersport! live in session
Ahead of their show at Eurosonic festival this week, we're dropping an incredible session filmed during Iceland Airwaves last year with Reykjavík four piece Supersport!
Among the most exciting and talented bands in Iceland right now, the art-pop project grew out of the capital's post-dreifing collective and released their third album allt sem hefur gerst to major acclaim last year.
Champions of the DIT (do-it-together) ideology that was central to post-dreifing, the band joined Best Fit thanks to our friends at Record in Iceland. Together we headed an hour outside Reykjavík, to a remote cabin in Hvalfjarðarsveit, for a stripped back take on "Fingurkoss", one of the standouts from allt sem hefur gerst and you can watch the session below.
"'Fingurkoss' is a song about love and distance (mental and physical)," explains singer Bjarni Daníel. "It's about wanting to be present but not being able to fully, feeling distracted and restless."
This week the band heads to Groeningen in the Netherlands this week to play at Eurosonic Noorderslag. “The barrier for music-related travels can seem impossibly high when you live on an island,” Bjarni comments. “So for us as an Icelandic band, being able to bring our music out of our home and into the world means everything.”

Record in Iceland is a reimbursement scheme offered by Iceland’s Ministry of Culture and Business Affairs that gives anyone who records their music in Iceland a 25% refund on all recording costs incurred in Iceland. All you need to do is submit the total cost related to your recording – including travel, accommodation, wages and even post-production like mixing and mastering. The refund will go through in the following quarter. It’s that easy – and makes Iceland the smart and easy choice for anyone wanting to find an inspiring location to record their next album.
