Sunken share new single, "10k" and announce forthcoming EP
London five-piece Sunken detail their forthcoming EP, 10K, and share the eponymous track.
“With this EP we’ve tried to harness the idea of space wherever we can. We aren’t an industrial band but we wanted to keep some minimalism in the arrangements and some industrial edge to the sound.” explain the band on the performance visual. “So when thinking about this live video we remembered going to parties under the bridge and how good it sounded, so it felt like it could be a good way of presenting the tracks and the record.”
“10K is symbolic of any kind of achievement. We thought of using money as this placeholder as it’s often the thing we focus on the most, despite not wanting to let it get to you - it’s kind of unavoidable.” explains the band on the EP’s meaning.
“We wanted to call the EP 10K because it also feels malleable in the sense that you can equate it to whatever comes to mind. The ambiguity is also something we all felt is reflected in the lyrics of the songs on the EP… it’s cool that people will be able to interpret the name.”
