Sufjan Stevens unveils previously unheard "Death With Dignity (Demo)"
Sufjan Stevens has shared "Death With Dignity (Demo)", which features on the forthcoming release of Carrie & Lowell (10th Anniversary Edition).
Following "Mystery of Love (Demo), released last month, Sufjan Stevens has released "With Dignity (Demo)" with a lyric video, directed by Rena Johnson.
Fans will have the opportunity to hear the album without distraction in complete darkness at immersive Pitchblack Playback Sessions in cities across the UK, Europe, North America, New Zealand, and South America.
The deluxe edition of the forthcoming anniversary release features an expanded double-LP album that includes seven previously unreleased bonus tracks, an art book, and a new essay by Sufjan. This edition also offers an alternative cover: a full-framed version of the original Polaroid zoomed out to reveal the photo’s caption written in a child’s handwriting—“Carrie & Lowell”—disclosing the source of the album title (it was written by Sufjan's sister Djamilah).
Carrie & Lowell (10th Anniversary Edition) will be released on 30 May via Asthmatic Kitty, and is available to pre-order now. Visit pitchblackplayback.com for information on the album listening events.
