Suede announce Autofiction: Expanded alongside "The Sadness In You, The Sadness In Me"
Suede have announced details of Autofiction: Expanded, in celebration of the band’s ninth studio album, Autofiction, one year since its initial release and matched with rare bonus tracks, unheard material, and a full live album.
The upcoming Autofiction: Expanded release will be available digitally and in a three CD set, with CD one featuring the essential Autofiction studio album. CD two features six extra tracks and rarities. Four of the songs, "The Sadness In You, The Sadness In Me", "Days Like Dead Moths", "The Prey" and "Still Waiting" were only available during the first week following the album’s original 2022 release, until now. The disc also includes "You Don’t Know Me", as featured on the Japanese edition of Autofiction and, "There Is No Me If There Is No You", an as yet unreleased song recorded by Suede during the Autofiction album sessions.
The third disk contains the new Autofiction live album, recorded at shows across Suede’s entirely sold-out UK tour in March 2023.
The new live album captures the feral spirit of Autofiction - a record that sees Suede reconnecting with the same energy they harnessed when they began making music over 30 years ago. "Autofiction is Suede’s punk record,” Brett Anderson said. “No whistles and bells. Just the five of us in a room with all the glitches and fuck-ups revealed; the band themselves exposed in all their primal mess."
In June 2024, Suede will join the Manic Street Preachers for a massive co-headline tour of the UK and Ireland’s premier outdoor venues including Cardiff Castle, Manchester Castlefield Bowl, Leeds’ Millennium Square and Eden Sessions, St Austell. The tour has almost completely sold out, with the last few tickets for Edinburgh Castle and London’s Alexandra Palace Park available now.
Autofiction: Expanded is available on 3CD, and digitally, via BMG from 8 December, and is available to pre-order now.
