Squarepusher announces new album, Kammerkonzert
Squarepusher, the project of electronic musician Tom Jenkinson, has announced his upcoming album Kammerkonzert. and shared new single "K2 Central".
Kammerkonzert is the sixteenth studio album to emerge from Jenkinson's three-decade-long career, following his 2024 release Dostrotime. New single "K2 Central" offers the first preview of the work, a collection of songs which draw upon orchestral themes, and is accompanied by a music video created by Jo Apps.
Kammerkonzert, which translates to "chamber concert" in German, sees Jenkinson demonstrate his ability as a composer with a project that features progressive, ambient, electronic and experimental sounds that came together with live drums, electric bass, guitar, and additional instruments from a sound library. Although Jenkinson's original plan was to work with a group of classically trained musicians, leading him to compose for an orchestra in 2016, his work was disrupted by an injury, leading him to create Kammerkonzert as an orchestral album played live entirely by himself.
