DJ originally launched in the US and Canada earlier this year.
DJ is a personalised AI guide that knows you and your music taste so well that it can choose what to play for you. This feature will deliver a curated lineup of music alongside commentary around the tracks and artists suggested in a stunningly realistic voice.
Since launching in the US and Canada, earlier this year, the data around DJ has shown users have been enjoying the feature. On days when users tune in, fans spend 25% of their listening time with DJ. More than half of first-time listeners are said to come back to listen to DJ the very next day.
DJ sorts through the latest music, while looking back at user’s old favourites to review what they might enjoy and delivers a stream of songs picked just for them. It refreshes constantly based on feedback. The more users listen and tell the DJ what they like, and don’t like, the better the recommendations will get.
“We know that our users love personalised experiences, so we’re confident that DJ will become the next beloved Spotify feature to re-discover old favourites and find something new," says Tom Connaughton, Spotify’s Managing Director, UK and IE.
Spotify DJ is currently only available to Spotify Premium users. You can find the AI DJ card near the top of the app’s music feed. Look out for the moving green circle against a blue background and click through to access it.
The feature is rolling out in Beta beginning today to Spotify Premium users in the UK and Ireland.
