Spencer Cullum, Erin Rae, Hollow Hand team up for collaborative album Banquet Rock
Three solo artists from the folk world have announced Banquet Rock, a collaborative album recorded over four days at Chale Studio on the Isle of Wight last winter. It will be released on 26 February 2027 via Full Time Hobby.
Cullum, Max Kinghorn-Mills (Hollow Hand), and Rae wrote together for the first time for the record, having previously played across one another’s solo material. They were joined by Dom Billet on drums, Harry Bohay on bass, and Rich Ruth on guitars and synths. The backing band - from Nashville, London, and Brighton - convened for the session at the 16th-century building back in January 2026.
The project began with Cullum and Kinghorn-Mills exchanging demos through weekly online meetings, before bringing Rae into the writing trio. The lead single is “Far Below The Willows”, which draws on Wind in the Willows and Syd Barrett. The ten-song album features pedal steel, pump organ, synthesizer, and Rhodes piano.
Banquet Rock will be released digitally, on “Moonstone Sage” clear vinyl, marbled “Twilight Purple” vinyl (D2C exclusive), and CD. The collective will tour the UK in March 2027, including dates in Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Oxford, Bristol, London, and Brighton. Tickets go on sale on 6 November.
