Southbank Centre announces new multi-venue event, Classical Mixtape: A Live Takeover
Southbank Centre has announced Classical Mixtape: A Live Takeover, a new event offering a night of classical music’s greatest hits on 5 February 2026.
Classical Mixtape: A Live Takeover will see over 200 musicians from six of Southbank Centre’s Resident Orchestras perform across multiple venues, including Aurora Orchestra, Chineke! Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Sinfonietta, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, and the Philharmonia Orchestra.
Curated for under-30s as part of the recent launch of Southbank Centre’s Under-30s scheme, the evening will present a programme of twenty-minute live and looping performances of well-known works in classical music, which is intended to allow audiences to curate their experience of classical music by choosing the order of arrangements and how many times they wish to listen to them.
The London Philharmonic Orchestra is set to open the evening with a full symphony performing Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, Howard Shore’s symphonic score for The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4.
Under-30s tickets are £12 and Standard tickets are £28. Tickets for Southbank Centre Members are available now, while general sale opens on Thursday 18 December 2025 at 10AM at www.southbankcentre.co.uk
