Sophie Ellis-Bextor announces first album in over six years with lead track "Breaking The Circle"
Sophie Ellis-Bextor has announced her first new studio album in more than six years, HANA, and has delivered the lead outing "Breaking The Circle".
"Breaking The Circle" is Ellis-Bextor's first new release since featuring on RHYME SO's January single "DEEP IN VOGUE", and is, in her own words, "inspired by those late-night moments you have, where you
question everything and feel a buzz of adrenaline about what tomorrow might bring. It's urgent and dramatic and optimistic… the perfect introduction to the new album."
HANA will follow Ellis-Bextor's 2016 album Familia, and was created alongside frequent collaborator Ed Harcourt. He describes the album as "kaleidoscopic joy". The album is inspired by East Asia, and started with the album track "Tokyo", which followed Ellis-Bextor's first trip to Japan in 2020 before the pandemic.

"Breaking The Circle" is out now. Sophie Ellis-Bextor's HANA album will be released on 2 June via Cooking Vinyl, and is available to pre-order now.
