SOHN reveals details of instrumental album, Albadas (Dawn Songs)
British producer and composer SOHN has announced the forthcoming instrumental album, Albadas (Dawn Songs), alongside the release of first single, "Let Go / Ascent".
Speaking on the creation of the record, SOHN explains: “Given what had been happening in the news cycle, words and songs felt somehow inappropriate, and I really struggled to convey emotion in a way that satisfied me,” SOHN shares. “I began a morning practice of improvisation—capturing my moods and thoughts before the day began. In a time when words were failing me, these dawn songs came to my rescue.”
The album is accompanied by a short film of the same name, created by Catalan artists Carla Cervantes Caro and Mònica Figueras Domènech, shot during their own dawn rituals. Filmed in the Empordà region of Spain in the early hours, the piece is a poetic exploration of observation, hope, fear, and ultimately, love
To celebrate the release of his forthcoming album, SOHN will be performing an intimate electronic solo set at St Matthias Church in London on 4 December.
Albadas (Dawn Songs) will be released on 10 October via his new label imprint, adaptpivotmove.
