SOFT PLAY make their long-awaited return with new single "Punk’s Dead"
The track was premiered on BBC Radio 1 as Jack Saunders' Hottest Record In The World, and features pop icon Robbie Williams.
The track is also accompanied by news of their new label partnership with BMG, as well as confirmation that they’ll be joining the bill for surprise appearances at Reading & Leeds festivals this weekend.
It follows the band’s recent return o the live circuit, warming up with an intimate show at Tunbridge Wells Forum followed by their headline appearance at 2000 Trees Festival. The band also confirmed to join The Prodigy’s UK Arena tour this November as main support.
After an unexpected hiatus spanning several years, Laurie Vincent and Isaac Holman announced in late 2022 that they would reignite their partnership under the SOFT PLAY moniker, teasing their return to the studio. Instead of shying away from discourse following the decision to change their name, "Punk’s Dead" sees the band remould the real life criticism and commentary into a Comments Section frankenstein of pure lyrical mastery.
"Punk's Dead" is out now via BMG.
