Sleaford Mods join forces with Berberè and Warchild to launch the limited edition pizza 'Megaton'
Italian pizzeria, Berberè and post punk duo, Sleaford Mods have joined forces to launch the limited edition ‘Megaton’ pizza in association with War Child.
The name ‘Megaton’ pays tribute to the band's recent single which too was born through the duo’s dedication to War Child and £2 from each pizza sold has been pledged to the charity. The pizza will be available from 1 December - 31 January and can be enjoyed in all four London pizzerias and via Deliveroo.
Jason Williamson from Sleaford Mods comments; “After pleasantries and the best coffee I’ve had in years, we got to work on the ‘Megaton’ at Berberè’s Marylebone site. Together, Andrew and I helped create it from scratch, in a moment of pure pizza romance. More importantly, each sale of our collaboration gives £2 to War Child, helping to improve the lives of children displaced by conflict. What’s not to love?”
Berberè founders Matteo and Salvatore Aloe comment; "This collaboration brings together two of our greatest passions: food and music. We’ve been fans of Sleaford Mods since we first saw them live in Bologna during their second Italian tour in 2017, and we’re beyond excited to be working with them now.
Their raw, uncompromising approach to music resonates with how we think about food — challenging conventions and rejecting the norm. We also strongly connect with the band’s values and admire their ongoing commitment to charity work."
The pizza is priced at £12 and will be available for dine-in and takeaway via Deliveroo throughout December and January. For more information, visit berberepizzeria.co.uk.
