Sleaford Mods announce London Gig for Gaza with Baxter Dury

Sleaford Mods have announced a charity show in the Paul Weller-curated Gigs for Gaza series at London’s Troxy on 24 October. Proceeds will go to Gaza Forever UK and Medical Aid for Palestinians, with support from Baxter Dury, Joe Armon-Jones, and more TBA.

In a statement, the Nottingham rap-punk duo said: “This show feels more important than ever as the slaughter in Palestine slips in and out of the news cycle.” They added that they have been fundraising for victims of war for the past three years and that “the need doesn’t go away just because the coverage has moved on.”

Paul Weller, who curates the series, also commented: “We are very proud to present Gig for Gaza three. It’s gonna be another great and powerful evening of solidarity and brilliant artists. Please come… please share. Free Palestine.”

The first Gig for Gaza took place in November 2024 with Primal Scream, Kneecap, Liam Bailey, Paloma Faith, and Lowkey. Subsequent editions have featured Bobby Gillespie and The Clash’s Paul Simonon, while Weller organised a separate benefit in May with Suggs, Kevin Rowland, Glen Matlock, and Andy MacKay.

Tickets go on sale on 11 September at 9am BST.

In June, the UN commission of inquiry said Israel is committing genocide in Gaza by deliberately targeting children. At least 73,000 people have been murdered in Israeli attacks on Gaza since 7 October 2023, including more than 21,000 children, as reported by the territory's Hamas-run health ministry, whose figures are considered reliable by the UN.
