sim0ne shares new track, “lights down”
Scottish producer and DJ sim0ne has shared her new single, “lights down”, the latest preview of her upcoming debut EP.
“lights down” follows previous singles “always believed” and “space cadet” from the yet-to-be-named work. The track is accompanied by a video created with fans, capturing their reactions to hearing the song for the first time.
Speaking about the process behind making the song, sim0ne explains: “While making ‘lights down’ I really enjoyed playing with the juxtaposition between understated vocals with colloquial lyrics and hard, almost abrasive, synthetic sounds. I wanted the track to feel like a moment of intimacy with someone in the middle of a pulsing crowd, on a dance floor at peak time. While still nodding to UK rave and hardcore the track sonically references 2000s juggernauts Zombie Nation while keeping both feet firmly in underground dance culture.”
