Shaking Hand announce self-titled debut album

07 October 2025, 13:55 | Written by Kayla Sandiford

Manchester post-rock trio Shaking Hand have announced their forthcoming self-titled debut album alongside the release of their lead single, "Mantras".

Shaking Hand, the Manchester band formed of frontman George Hunter, drummer Freddie Hunter, and bassist Ellis Hodgkiss, are due to release their debut album in January of next year.

The announcement arrives with the reveal of their seven-minute-long lead single "Mantras", recorded with producer David Pye (Wild Beasts, Teenage Fanclub) at Nave Studios in Leeds.

Speaking of the inspiration behind "Mantras", Hunter says: “I can often find myself looking too far forward and feeling this need to grow to attain this version of myself, and this mindset can often be a hindrance. I often jot down things I want to do more / less off when I’m like this, and after some time, I ended up titling them ‘mantras’“

Shaking Hand is due for release on 16 January 2026 via Melodic.
