Sex Week release new single and announce London headline show
New York indie rock duo Sex Week have released new single “Life Is A Circle” via Grand Jury and announced a London headline show at Club Cheek on 10 November. Tickets go on sale on 16 September at 10am.
The track arrives after the band's recent tours with Mitski and Fcukers and is paired with a self-directed video. It also includes a quantised horse sample Pearl Amanda Dickson - one half of the band - found while experimenting with Logic.
Dickson says the track “feels like the cornerstone of our musical palette,” which has drawn comparisons to Wolf Alice and Steve Nicks, Cat Power and the Grease soundtrack.
Richard Orofino adds: “It was cathartic to make. Just adding these little wooden recorders, accordions and 808s, just not caring about anything other than what we wanted to hear.”
Sex Week are currently on tour supporting Cardinals. They play Bowery Ballroom in New York tonight, 14 September, followed by dates in Philadelphia and Washington, DC. In November, they will appear at Pitchfork Festival Paris on 6 November and Iceland Airwaves on 7 November before the London headline show. After that, they join Pretty Sick for a US run, starting at The Independent in San Francisco on 19 November.
