Sans Soucis announces their forthcoming debut album, Circumnavigating Georgia
London-based artist Sans Soucis has released the new single, "Sexed & Sexual", as the first instalment from their forthcoming debut album, Circumnavigating Georgia.
Directed by C.T Robert and shot in Mexico, the accompanying visuals show a story told through the lens of a young queer, black person growing up in Italy.
Speaking on the track Sans Soucis says: “When I was a teenager, I overlooked situations that I shouldn’t have been involved in,’ they say of the song. “I don’t blame myself for it. That's why I really wanted to explore all of these aspects. The album was kind of exercising my guilt and actually being like, ‘Listen, it is what it is. It happened the way it happened and it's not my fault.’”
Circumnavigating Georgia will see the writer and producer Sans Soucis take us through their coming of age and the reclamation of their identity, tearing apart systemic patriarchy and anti-blackness that's impacted their life.
Later this year, Sans Soucis will also debut this live music for the first time as part of a run of UK and EU dates, including a headline show at London's Oslo on 12 November.
Circumnavigating Georgia, is due for release later this year via Decca. For more information on their live dates, visit sanssoucismusic.com.
