Sampa The Great shares new single, "Location"
Sampa The Great has released "Location", the latest preview of her upcoming album, Nu Zamrock.
"Location" follows previous singles "Simon Says" and "Can't Hold Us" featuring Mwanjé. The songs offer the first taste of a collection of songs which see Sampa The Great exploring the 1970s Zamrock movement from her own perspective, after learning that her uncle George Kunda (Groovy Joe) was a founding member of the Zambian psychedelic rock band WITCH.
Speaking about the track, Sampa The Great says: “While African music influences the world, the infrastructure rarely supports its creators. This song confronts the global imbalance - and the cost of creating outside the West.”
Nu Zamrock is released on 30 October 2026 via Loma Vista Recordings
