Sam Fender reveals "Remember My Name" as the final preview of his third studio album
Sam Fender has shared "Remember My Name" as the fourth and final track to be lifted from his forthcoming third album, People Watching.
“Remember My Name is a love song dedicated to my late Grandparents - they were always so fiercely proud of our family so I wrote the song in honour of them, from the perspective of my Grandad who was looking after my Grandma when she was suffering from dementia," says Sam Fender. “The video is a really special one for me, I’d like to thank everyone involved.”
I, Daniel Blake star Dave Johns shares the video’s lead role, depicting the crushing inevitability of love, companionship and of eventual loss. The video also features the Easington Colliery Band who hail from the North East of England, and also feature on the track itself. Dave Johns shares the lead with actor Philippa Briggs. The video was directed by Hector Dockrill.
Polydor Records has made a donation to the Utley Foundation on behalf of Sam Fender in support of their Music for Dementia campaign to make music an integral part of dementia care, based on the life-changing effect it has on people living with dementia.
People Watching will be released on 21 February 2025 via Polydor Records, and is available to pre-order now.
