Sam Akpro covers John Holt live in session for Best Fit
Peckham-born musician Sam Akpro covers John Holt's version of "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine" exclusively for The Line of Best Fit in partnership with Crouch End Studios.
"I covered this song because I was at Peckham Plex cinema watching Rye Lane and I just really liked the sound of the song's bassline and drum groove together," Akpro explains to Best Fit of the song, which was originally released by Lou Rawls and later covered by John Holt. "I found John Holt’s delivery of such simple lyrics very effective. This session was also a great opportunity for me to perform a cover of a tune for the first time ever."
The Best Fit Live Session follows his performance at Green Man Festival, and arrives ahead of appearances at Pitchfork Music Festival Paris on 9 November and Excursions at Bedford Esquires on 7 October. His latest EP Arrival landed in April.
