"A stripped-back club tool": salute announces infinite passion mixtape with lead single "check check"
Austrian-born, Manchester-based producer and DJ salute has announced their latest record, infinite passion, a mixtape due later this year via Atlantic Records and inspired by a no-phones club night series. The lead single "check check" is out now.
“‘check check’ was an attempt at making a stripped-back club tool that anyone would be able to play, a departure from my more dense, harmony heavy material,” says salute, real name Felix Angyumanu Nyajo. “I’m stoked to be releasing it as part of a series of club tunes I’ll be dropping for the rest of the year.”
infinite passion is salute’s follow up to the 2024 debut LP TRUE MAGIC, which arrived off the back of several EPs and the initial remixes that first brought them attention. The mixtape extends the world of a club night series that began last summer, with sold-out events in London, Manchester, New York, and San Francisco featuring a hidden booth and a strict no-phones policy. Those nights have hosted line-ups including HAAi, AceMo, Nikki Nair, Call Super, Kyle Hall, Bambounou, Effy, and ATRIP, with further dates planned through 2026.
The record is shaped by that ethos: exclusive productions and dancefloor-tested material, with remixes and collaborations set to appear as the project unfolds. salute describes it as an evolving ecosystem where music, collaboration, and club connection feed into one another.
Since TRUE MAGIC, salute has toured the UK and US, played Coachella, Glastonbury and All Points East, and contributed to fabric’s fabric presents series. This summer they will appear at 909 Festival, Hï Ibiza, DC10, We Out Here, and Lost Village, alongside a series of live shows. They are also known for the inclusion rider stipulation on all of their live performance contracts, requiring that at least one act on any lineup they perform on must be from an under-represented group, such as female, Black, queer, or non-binary.
