Saint Jude and Taxi For Kaye team up on new track, "Testament"
Songwriter and producer Jude Woodhead, known as Saint Jude, has shared his new single, "Testament", featuring Glasgow-born artist Taxi For Kaye.
"Testament" follows previous singles "Desire Line", "Hold Tight London", and "Hopeful", which also features Taxi For Kaye, the alias of Christos Stylianides. When Saint Jude purchased a voice recorder that was pre-loaded voice diaries of American bank transactions from the early 2000s, he was inspired to create "Testament". He did so in less than a day, with Taxi For Kaye contributing vocals and a chord progression.
Speaking about the track, Woodhead says: “It’s the first song I’ve released win a long time without my own singing on it,” Jude [real surname Woodhead] says. “But it sounded really complete with Christos’ (Taxi for Kaye) vocal that I felt like there wasn’t anything for me to add to it.”
“’Testament’ came together really quickly from another sketch me and Jude had,” Stylianides adds. “I think I had Palestine at the front of mind at the time of writing, somewhere between helplessness and resilience”
"Testament" is out now via Slow Dance Recordings
