Rostam joins forces with Clairo on new single, “Hardy”
Rostam has released "Hardy" featuring Clairo, the latest single from his upcoming album, American Stories.
"Hardy" arrives as a duet between the pair and sees them reunite after Rostam helped produce Clairo's 2019 debut album, Immunity. The instrumental was first made in 2012 with a sample from Georges Delerue’s film score from Day for Night, as well as drums sampled from a song by François Hardy. The lyrics and melody were completed a few days ago, with the final product featuring cello by Hamilton Berry, bass clarinet by Henry Solomon, and piano performed by Rostam.
Speaking of the song and video, Rostam shares: “‘Hardy’ is a song about looking forward and looking back. Ultimately, I hope it leaves you with some feeling of hope for the future. I’m so happy Claire could make a guest appearance and sing her own section of the song— I have always loved the way her voice communicates optimism.”
American Stories is released on 15 May via Matsor Projects
