Renny Conti signs to Mom + Pop and details new album, Split Second
Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Renny Conti has signed to Mom + Pop, announced his second album, Split Second, and shared new single, "Impossible Truth".
Split Second follows Conti's 2025 self-titled album, and was written during a turbulent period that saw him experience a major breakup, lose a family member and leave his New York apartment in favour of a fresh start. On lead single "Impossible Truth", he grapples with relationship-defining arguments as a vulnerable introduction to the album.
Rather than being defined as a "trauma dump" of his tumultuous period, Split Second is described as a "tapestry of memories, tragedies, and small beautiful moments."
"I had a moment of clarity on a pier that things change," Conti explains of the album title and its inspiration. "Our surroundings change, our relationships change, our habits change, and they all change very suddenly at that."
Conti has performed with Jay Som, Samia and Hamilton Leithauser, with sets at both Pitchfork Paris and London. Ahead of the release, he returns to the UK this September for dates including End Of The Road Festival and a headline show at The Lexington on 10 September. "So excited to head to the UK and Europe with the band to play through my new album," he says. "This is our second time over and this time we're hitting some special festivals and venues that we've never played before."
