ratbag shares new single, "how to cry"
New Zealand alt-pop artist ratbag has shared new single, "how to cry", her first new music of 2026.
"how to cry" follows a busy 2025 for ratbag, which includes the release of her EP, kissing under an (almost) full moon, and a stint supporting Magdalena Bay during their world tour. The release also comes ahead of ratbag's first-ever UK shows, which will include an appearance at The Great Escape in Brighton, and a headline show at The George Tavern in London on 26 May.
Speaking about the track, ratbag shares: "The song is about needing to cry so badly but feeling so numb that you can’t. You pass a point where you can’t even draw tears anymore. But then you meet that one person who does the complete opposite and breaks that wall down right in front of you. You cry just by looking into their eyes.”
