Ragger reveal details of debut album, Euphonic Sounds
California duo Ragger have announced their debut album, Euphonic Sounds, and released lead single "Peacherine Rag".
Ragger was formed soon after multi-instrumentalists Marc Riordan and Jon Leland met in 2017, and began performing as a duo with a bi-weekly residency at Zebulon, an experimental venue in Los Angeles. Individually, Riordan and Leland have been involved in several different musical collaborations, with Riordan having previously worked with The Cairo Gang, The Red Krayola, and Xiu Xiu, while Leland has performed with Janka Nabay and the Bubu Gang, Glasser, and Steve Gunn.
Euphonic Sounds sees the pair introduce their first formal body of work, with "Peacherine Rag" marking the first preview of what to expect. Inspired by the compositions of ragtime pianist Scott Joplin, video game music, and "carnivalesque" sounds, the new album is largely described as "Scott Joplin in Super Mario World”.
Euphonic Sounds is due for release on 10 February 2026 via Hausu Mountain
