Radio Free Alice announce debut album, What's In Between

26 August 2026, 10:45 | Written by Kayla Sandiford

Australian new wave band Radio Free Alice have revealed details of their first album, What's In Between, and unveiled new single "Crying With You".

Sparking curiosity around a new album, Radio Free Alice played a free, DIY pop-up show in London on 19 August, with over five-hundred fans in attendance. "Crying With You" is the latest in a string of previous singles released from the new work, including "Rule 31", "Kick in the Shins", and "Lunch Money".

The band wrote the song during a writing retreat in Joshua Tree, California, at a property owned by producer Nicolas Vernhes. "The verse and chorus were originally different songs, but we stitched them together, which is something we like to do quite a lot," says lead singer Noah Learmonth.

What's In Between sees the band continuing their work with producer Peter Katis (Interpol, The National), with additional production from Ewan Pearson (Depeche Mode, Franz Ferdinand) and Finn Billingham.

"It's a huge relief to finally announce the album," Learmonth reflects. "We've lived with these songs for such a long time and they've become such a big part of our lives, so knowing there's now a date when they'll finally exist outside of us feels incredibly cathartic."

Following support slots for Geese during their sold-out Australian tour and selling out six headline dates in London, the band will play Reading Festival this weekend, followed by Riot Fest in Chicago and Austin City Limits, before embarking on an extensive UK/EU tour in November.
