Quiet Light maps out first headline European tour following the release of new mixtape
Austin-based artist Quiet Light has confirmed an 11-date headline European tour for later this year, including three UK stops. The run follows the release of her new mixtape Blue Angel Sparkling Silver 2, which is available now via True Panther.
The tour opens in Barcelona on 28 October and wraps at The Old Church in London on 11 November. Quiet Light, real name Riya Mahesh, will also play Edinburgh’s Sneaky Pete’s on 9 November and The Abbey in Manchester on 10 November. An artist pre-sale begins at 10am local time tomorrow (10 June), with a general sale following on Wednesday 11 June at the same time.
The dates serve as Mahesh’s first proper headline run across the continent, arriving off the back of the self-produced Blue Angel Sparkling Silver 2, a sequel of sorts to her 2023 release Blue Angel Sparkling Silver. The new collection was built around the singles “Berlin”, “Postinternetfame”, and “Self Tape”.
Mahesh recorded the mixtape while splitting her time between a hospital training placement in Massachusetts and her bedroom studio in Austin. She is currently completing medical school. “This record is for people who dream about what their life could be like,” she says of the work, which shifts between the sterility of hospital corridors and the softness of home recording.
Having debuted in 2020 with the self-titled EP Quiet Light, Mahesh spent several years releasing independent, self-produced records that pulled from folk, electronic, and pop. Blue Angel Sparkling Silver 2 is her first release via True Panther and arrives in a limited-edition vinyl pressing that bundles it with its 2023 predecessor.
The European tour also takes in stops in Madrid, Lisbon, Brussels, Copenhagen, Berlin, Paris and Dublin, including a slot at Pitchfork Festival Paris on 6 November.
