Queer/trans electro duo deBasement detail new EP HARDBODY
LA-based deBasement have announced their new EP HARDBODY, set for release on 17 July via In Real Life, and shared the single “CUT THE LINE”.
The duo describe the EP as a study in extremes. “HARDBODY is a state of being, one we are moulded into in order to survive,” they explain. “It traces the link between auto and body, and the perversions that mutate from this place: how the self becomes mechanical and hard, a vessel we adorn, modify, and transform, but one that at its core can only be rocked by some sort of spectacular crash.”
“CUT THE LINE” is the latest preview from the collection, following the previously released “AFTERMARKET BASS” (featuring Nikki Nair) and “STAY IN UR LANE”. The full tracklist also includes collaborations with Miss Bashful, Nikki Nair, and DJ ADHD.
Since forming in September 2024, deBasement – the pairing of Alli Logout (of Special Interest) and Grammy-nominated producer Margo XS – have brought their live set to events including Berghain’s Säule, Primavera Festival, and Homobloc.
Their summer calendar now stretches across the UK and Europe with headline dates and festival appearances. Among the UK stops are London’s FILTH pride (4 July), a headline show at Glasgow’s Stereo (21 August), Manchester’s White Hotel (28 August), Body Movements Festival in London (30 August), and End of the Road Festival in Salisbury (4 September).
