Pulp announce new live album, Live!, and concert film documenting 2025 London show
Pulp have shared the details of their upcoming live album, Live!, and concert film Pulp: What Do You Do For an Encore?, and shared live singles "A Sunset" and "Disco 2000".
The live songs and concert film footage are captured from two performances at The O2 London last year. They were the 56th and 57th shows of Pulp's career, and they followed the release of More, the band's first album in twenty-four years. "A Sunset" and "Disco 2000" arrive as the first tasters of this snapshot in time for Pulp, with "A Sunset" also featuring a live video from The O2.
Pulp: What Do You Do For an Encore? was directed by Garth Jennings, who directed the promo video for the song “Help the Aged” back in 1997. In 2023, he reached out to Pulp after learning they'd be touring again to help with the stage concept, and went on to join them in June 2025 to film their O2 performances. Pulp: What Do You Do For an Encore? is due to premiere on MUBI worldwide this autumn, with Live! being Pulp's first ever film soundtrack.
"A concert is an event where songs come back to life. That's why this album is called Live!" singer Jarvis Cocker explains of the album. “It's both a statement of fact (it's a recording of a live band) & a challenge (come on! Everyone come alive!).”
