Public Opinion announce second album, The Curse of Public Opinion
Colorado punk band Public Opinion have announced their upcoming album, The Curse of Public Opinion, and shared lead single "Balloon Man Running".
Emerging from the Denver hardcore scene back in 2020, Public Opinion released their debut album, Painted On Smile, in 2024. "Balloon Man Running" arrives as the first preview of the new record, which spans 2000s garage rock, classic punk, and hardcore.
Speaking on the band's approach to the album, which was recorded with Brett Romnes (Anxious, I Am The Avalanche, Hot Mulligan), vocalist Kevin Hart explains: “A lot of bands make music about feeling bad but they’re so dialed-in. I think our message is a little more messy, but a lot more human. At the end of the day I’m kind of a quiet, angry guy. I don’t explode, I implode. So when it comes to the songs I don’t try to stop all that from coming through."
