Protomartyr preview upcoming album with new song, “Feed the Sewer"
Protomartyr have unveiled "Feed the Sewer", the second preview of their upcoming album, Hotel Usona, and announced special release events in London, Paris and Berlin.
"Feed the Sewer" follows lead single "Sounds We Cannot Hear", which spoke to the paralysis of modern life. Speaking about the track, vocalist Joe Casey says: “The title comes from a line of dialogue in a Peter Greenaway movie. The sentiment of the song is that artificial intelligence is against humanity. The belief is that people are often willing to destroy the world in exchange for convenience. The lyrics are the usual mish-mash of political fears, personal grievances, literary references, and poop jokes. The music is very loud, like a data center."
A series of special events will also take place ahead of the album's release, including a playback and Q&A in Paris on 22 September, a Q&A and cinema takeover at The Nickel Cinema in London on 24 September, and a playback, Q&A, DJ set and signing in Berlin on 25 September.
Hotel Usona is released on 25 September via Domino
