Primavera Sound to amplify Catalan talent at 2025 event
Primavera Sound in Barcelona will once again champion homegrown talent as it gears up for its 2025 edition next month, with the breadth of Catalonia’s music scene represented at the festival – from experimental pop singer Amaia to electronic producer John Talabot.
A key focus this year is the Primavera Pro programme, which includes free, public-access concerts at the CCCB (Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona) on 4 June. Supported by Catalan Arts, the event will showcase rising acts like indie-pop artist GUINEU, genre-blending producer okdw, experimental rock act Remei de Ca la Fresca, and avant-pop performer xicu.
The festival’s lineup reflects the evolving Catalan music landscape, where established names and newcomers share stages. Amaia – returning to Primavera Sound after her debut performance there, will present new material, while John Talabot teams up with Danish DJ Justin for a special back-to-back set. The lineup also spans punk (sistema de entretenimiento, Tetas Frías), hyper-digital pop (Llum), and Catalan R&B (Maig).
Primavera Pro, the festival’s professional arm, aims to connect emerging Catalan artists with international industry figures. The CCCB showcase will be followed by a traditional botifarrada (sausage barbecue) for accredited guests, though the performances there remain open to all.
Primavera Pro runs from 2 - 8 June and Conference Pass accreditations are the last accreditations available.
