PISS share new single inspired by interview with West German militant feminist group

14 October 2026, 15:00 | Written by Hayden Merrick

Ahead of their debut album, arriving 30 October, PISS have released a new single with lyrics taken from the transcript of an interview with Rote Zora, the radical feminist group from West Germany.

The song's full title is "Rote Zora. ‘Resistance is Possible.’ Emma, no. 6, June 1984, pp. 39-41", and follows previous singles "blocking a scene you can’t remember" and "time loop at hot slit". The lyrics are borrowed from an interview transcript first published in the German feminist magazine Emma in 1984. A full English translation is available at theanarchistlibrary.org. The music video was directed by Eila Vallevand and smashes together found footage and animations.

Led by vocalist Taylor Zantingh, the Vancouver art-punk quartet recorded their debut album in January 2025 with Colin Stewart at Hive Creative Labs. Pre-orders are available from Sub Pop and Bandcamp. The band's recently announced London show at Moth Club is sold out. A new London date at The Scala has been added for 24 February. PISS will also play Primavera Sound in Barcelona on 4 June. The band are supporting Gilla Band on US and Canada dates through October and into November.
