Listen to "Lost Boys", the first new solo song from Phoebe Bridgers in over four years
The wait is finally over and a new Phoebe Bridgers song is in the world with "Lost Boys" marking her return to music as a solo artist and the first song from new record Lost Weekend.
Her work with boygenius aside, "Lost Boys" marks the first original material from Bridgers since "Sidelines" in April 2022, a track written and recorded for the soundtrack of the television series Conversations with Friends. The releae of the song follows weeks of speculation and a series of surprise US pop-up shows, which culminated in a sold-out performance at New York's Madison Square Garden. Bridgers has also seen her newly announced arena tour sell out across North America and the UK within hours of tickets going on sale.
The song was produced by Bridgers along with Jack Antonoff and longtime collaborators Tony Berg and Ethan Gruska, with additional production by Alex G. Bridger's boygenius bandmates Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus provide backing vocals on the track along with Roomful of Teeth founder Caroline Shaw.
Lance Oppenheim and Pablo Rochat-directed the Renaissance Fair-themed video for "Lost Boys", which stars Liquorice Pizza actor Skyler Gisondo and contains footage from MMORPG Runescape. Gisondo also appears alongside Bridgers and Robert Pattison in the upcoming A24 movie Primetime.
The record arrives as the follow-up to 2020's Punisher, which earned Bridgers multiple Grammy nominations and was released during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic. Bridgers' upcoming tour includes multiple nights at major venues across the US, UK and Europe. The run begins in September and continues through December, with all UK dates already sold out. Support on the US leg comes from Alex G, with Isaac Wood and Anaïs joining for European shows. Two London dates at the O2 are already sold out.
Lost Weekend is released on 14 August via Dead Oceans
