Philip Selway unveils new cut "Picking Up Pieces"
Radiohead's Philip Selway has unveiled his new single "Picking Up Pieces" as the second preview of his upcoming solo album Strange Dance.
After announcing Strange Dance with the lead single "Check For Signs Of Life" in October last year, Selway has delivered a second outing from the record titled "Picking Up Pieces", which lands with a William Wiliamson-directed video, and features guitar by Portishead’s Adrian Utley.
Selway says of the track, ""Picking Up Pieces" is a song about the masking that we do when we’re young adults. It’s a time of life when your sense of identity can feel shaky, you can feel anxious about making the grade, and life can feel that it’s spinning out of control, but you try to hide this from everyone."
Strange Dance will follow his 2014 album Weatherhouse and his 2017 soundtrack for Let Me Go. The album will feature contributions from Hannah Peel, Marta Salogni, Laura Moody, Adrian Utley, Quinta and Valentina Magaletti.
"Picking Up Pieces" is out now. Philip Selway's Strange Dance album will be released via Bella Union on 24 February, and is available to pre-order now.
