Phil Daniels performs "Parklife" with Blur at Eastbourne Winter Garden
Blur bring out their longtime friend Phil Daniels to perform "Parklife".
The Quadrophenia actor performed the verses on the 1994 smash hit "Parklife" for their studio recording, and during Blur's intimate warm-up shows ahead of their stadium tour, they brought Daniels out the perform the hit for the crowd.
He has previously joined the band on stage during their performance at Glastonbury, in 2009, and in an interview with Chris Moyles on Radio X, Daniels revealed that Damon Albarn has said is always welcome to join them – "So I’ve been to Japan, South America, America… All over the place.”
Blur are in the midst of four intimate comeback gigs, which kicked off on Friday with a hometown show at Colchester Arts Centre. They opened their set with the unreleased, "St Charles Square", and went on to play some classics from their back catalogue – including a debut of "Villa Rosie" from their 1993 album Modern Life is Rubbish.
Last week, Blur confirmed the release of their first new album in eight years, The Ballad Of Darren. It will be the follow-up to 2015's The Magic Whip.
