Peaches releases remix of "You're Alright" by Pixel Grip and IDLES's Joe Talbot
Peaches has shared a new version of "You’re Alright", the No Lube So Rude track, remixed by Pixel Grip featuring Joe Talbot of IDLES. The Chicago house club version premiered yesterday on BBC Radio 6 Music.
The original track comes from Peaches’ No Lube So Rude, which was her first album in ten years and was shortlisted for the Polaris Prize. Pixel Grip’s rework pushes it into the Chicago house club territory of their hometown. “When Peaches calls and asks about a remix, of course you answer and say yes,” the Illinois trio said.
Their remix follows the video for "You’re Alright", directed by Oscar-shortlisted filmmaker Agniia Galdanova (Queendom) and co-starring Peaches alongside performance artist Jenna Marvin. The video was shared via Nowness last week.
Joe Talbot, vocalist of IDLES, also features on the original track. He said he had long admired Peaches, her music having "always answered my call. I hope in some small way this song is answering hers. And the sweat."
Peaches is currently touring North America and Latin America, following sold-out international runs earlier this year. In April, she released her debut score for Netflix’s Big Mistakes, created with Grammy-winning composer Nora Kroll-Rosenbaum.
On
the North American headlining tour, Peaches has partnered with PLUS1 so
that $1 from every ticket sold supports NOISE FOR NOW and grassroots
organisations working to provide and protect reproductive rights in the
US. HeadCount will also be present at select US dates to register
voters.
