PC Music reveals plans for new compilation, Pop Crypt: Chronicles
PC Music has announced Pop Crypt: Chronicles, a collection of remixes and covers from its catalogue, and shared lead single “Christmas/Halloween” by A. G. Cook side project POBBLES, alongside two remixes by A. G. Cube and Kane West.
The compilation features reimaginings of songs by artists performing at this year's edition of the label's annual Halloween event, POP CRYPT: CRYPT CUBE, with proceeds going to Mermaids, a UK-based charity supporting trans, non-binary and gender-diverse children and young people.
The announcement arrives with three tracks: "Christmas/Halloween" by POBBLES, the toy-making side project of label founder A. G. Cook, an A. G. Cube remix of GRRL's "You Can't", and a Kane West house music rework of Astra King's "Born For You".
The compilation will be released on the first day of the biggest edition yet of the POP CRYPT events, taking place across three cities for the first time — New York, Los Angeles and London — and co-presented with Brain Dead. Referencing PC Music's legendary Pop Cube event from 2015, this year's CRYPT CUBE events on 29, 30 and 31 October will be at Knockdown Center in New York, 1720 in Los Angeles and Colour Factory in London.
The events feature performances by A. G. Cook, Hudson Mohawke, Dorian Electra, GFOTY, Sophia Stel, Namasenda, Hannah Diamond, Iglooghost, Babymorocco and more. The London edition will be followed by a special CRYPT CUBE London After Party at Colour Factory, featuring Hannah Diamond, Namasenda, Koreless, Mina Galán, Kane West and Sophia Stel (DJ), among others.
