Pavement announce best-of compilation, Hecklers Choice: Big Gums and Heavy Lifters
Pavement have shared details of two releases – the best-of compilation Hecklers Choice: Big Gums and Heavy Lifters, and the physical edition of the PAVEMENTS (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack).
Matador Records will release Hecklers Choice: Big Gums and Heavy Lifters, Pavement’s second best-of compilation, which comes are Quarantine the Past was released in 2010. The release features songs such as "Shady Lane", "Harness Your Hopes", "Range Life", and "Spit On A Stranger".
Compiled by PAVEMENTS producer/editor Robert Greene and the band, the soundtrack ropes together disparate elements of the film – dialogue snippets, scenes from the fake Oscar-bait biopic Range Life, and cast recordings from the Slanted! Enchanted! jukebox musical as well as live and rehearsal recordings from the group’s 2021 reunion tour. The full-band performances were mixed by Bryce Goggin, who worked on Pavement classics Crooked Rain Crooked Rain, Wowee Zowee, and Brighten the Corners.
Hecklers Choice is out digitally now, and will be available on CD and LP on 14 November. PAVEMENTS (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) will be released on the same day, and is available to pre-order now.
