Patrick Wolf returns with new song, "The Beast"
Singer-songwriter Patrick Wolf has released his new single, "The Beast", his first new music of 2026.
"The Beast" follows Wolf's 2025 album Crying The Neck, and is described by Wolf as a “Harpsichord Banger”, an anthem of empowerment for those who have been ostracised and pushed out onto the fringes of society. The track will also include a B-side, "The Laughing Dove", due on 5 June, and comes a month ahead of Wolf's upcoming feature film biopic “Wolf”, which is narrated and executive produced by Tilda Swinton and set to premiere at Sheffield Docfest.
Speaking about "The Beast", Wolf explains: “Meeting what my audience had become in my 13 years away from the United States gave me an electric shock of inspiration. As I listened to them tell me that my music gave them a sense of being less alone in this bewildering world.
"Over winter, I finished writing two new songs that stand alone forming the backbone of the Tour Of The Beast setlist and will serve as a bridge to the next album. I received so much love and empowerment from my 2025 North American tour that I cannot wait to return and give my all. The Tour Of The Beast is a tour for the outcast, the pariah, the one with the scarlet letter they are only just learning to wear with pride.”
