Otoboke Beaver announce new maxi single, “Is The New Album Out Yet?"
Japanese punk quartet Otoboke Beaver have announced their new maxi single, “Is The New Album Out Yet?", and released “I Don’t Need To Be In Your Strike Zone", their first new music in four years.
“Is The New Album Out Yet?" is the first of three songs to arrive as part of the mini single, with “Hey, Where’s the Thank You?” and “Is The New Album Out Yet?” to be released digitally on 10 April and 15 April, respectively, with a physical 4” available on 10 June. This follows their 2022 album Super Champon, with the first track landing alongside a video directed by Haruko Tajima.
The songs were recorded with engineer Ippei Suda at LM Studio, and they are the final recordings to feature drummer Kahokiss, who went on maternity leave after last year’s Fuji Rock Festival and announced her retirement from the band. The band will continue with Leo (Emi) joining vocalist Accorinrin, guitarist Yoyoyoshie, and bassist Hirochan as the band's new drummer, just as they're set to support Foo Fighters on their European tour this summer, and perform a headline show at London's Electric Ballroom on 21 June.
